Tough Schedule Ahead for Tennis

The APA girls’ tennis season is in full “swing,” and with both the JV and varsity teams having strong lineups, the 2017 season, according to Coach Brad Sauls,  “is looking to be one of our best ones yet.”

Starting off the 2017 season strong with a 11-1 record, the players and coach are excited to see how far they’ll go.

Junior Blythe Brantley has a positive outlook for the Lady Patriots’ chances.

“We’ve all been getting steadily better, and our record shows that,” Brantley said, addressing the team’s challenging practices, led by Coach Sauls, who has worked with the team individually for years.

Last year the team lost to Cape Fear Academy in the 2A state semifinals, so reaching the final figures to be APA’s  goal.

Winning their last game 9-0, the Lady Pats are feeling plenty of momentum going into their next match tomorrow against 4A public powerhouse and last year’s state champion Cardinal Gibbons HS (Raleigh).

And next Monday, the APA hosts CFA at 3:30pm.
