Homecoming Highlights

Homecoming this year was one to be remembered, with senior Camille Edwards being crowned Homecoming Queen, Mr. Hugh Pollock being honored for his 50 years at the school, and the football team routing Southampton Academy.

To start with, at halftime the Homecoming Court and their fathers (or escorts) were introduced, with Edwards winning the prized tiara, as voted for by the high school students.

“I felt honored for all the support from my classmates,” Edwards said.

Next, Mr. Pollock was honored between the first and second quarters of the football game for being with APA for 50 years.

It has been and continues to be an honor for all the students to have a chance to get to know Mr. Pollock, and he was presented with a No. 50 jersey signed by alumni present at the game.

Mr. Pollock’s service to the students, staff, and alumni cannot be estimated, as the longtime teacher, administrator, and coach has touched the lives of so many.

Finally, the football game concluded Homecoming with a one-sided score of 48-6 over Southampton Academy.

AJ Banker, Holden Killinger, and Matthew Huntley led Coach Matt Beaman’s squad to the win, upping APA’s record to 7-0.
